Light: Mixing Primary, Secondary and Complementary Colours

There are two nice links below which show how light beams are mixed.

http://mc2.cchem.berkeley.edu/Java/RGB/example1.html
This link shows how varying the intensity of the primary colours, can lead to the creation of all colours. Your standard CRT TV uses this type of "colour mixing" to achieve the colours of the images on the screen.

http://www.hal-pc.org/~clement/Simulations/Mixing%20Colors/rgbColor.html
This is an excellent applet to show the mixing of the 3 Primary Colours (Red, Blue and Green). It also shows very clearly the "Secondary Colours" and makes the "Complimentary Colours" very easy to identify.

Ray Tracing for a Convex Lens

Hi Folks,

Were moving onto "Ray Tracing" diagrams for Convex Lenses. Click the video link on the right hand side of this page to view a sort clip about ray tracing.

Heres a nice link to get everyone started on convex lenses. Also have a look at the applet on the site. It shows you all the different images which can be formed using a convex lens.

If any of you folks find some more interesting links... Post them up ;-)

Links for applets on Refraction

I am currently looking for links on interesting sites dealing with refraction. You may also find some interesting material on You Tube, Yahoo Video or Google Video. If you find anything which you think others my find interesting.. post it up folks.

Links for applets on Concave Mirrors

Examples of Ray Diagrams:

Many thanks to the people who have submitted the links to applets on Concave Mirrors.

his applet shows how the type of images that can be formed using a concave mirror (Submitted by Connor & Simon Sept 07)

A nice and simple applet, which allows you to move the object and track the light rays as they form an image in a concave mirror (Submitted by Conor & Cillian Sept 07)

Very nice link, which takes you to wikipedia and explains how concave mirrors work and also gives some very nice examples of ray tracing diagrams(Submitted by Adam Sept 07)
